Family owners Hervé and Diane Joyaux Fabre
Hervé Joyaux Fabre, owner and winemaker of Fabre Montmayou, was born in Bordeaux, France, to a family of wine négociants.
When he arrived in Argentina in the early 90’s looking for opportunities to invest in vineyards and start a winery, Hervé was impressed by the potential for Malbec in Mendoza. A visionary, he bought 35.5 acres of very old Malbec vineyards, planted in 1908, in and built the Fabre Montmayou winery in Luján de Cuyo, 11 miles south of Mendoza city at the foothills of the Andes mountains, at and altitude of 3,800 meters.
His passion and “savoir faire” did the rest. Hervé crafts the wines, meticulous in his approach to ensure every step of the process is carried out to his instruction. Diane takes control when the wine is ready to be shipped out, looking out after everything from the corks to customers.
